This week I finished listening to The Falcon Of Sparta by Conn Iggulden on Audible. I’ve recently read two other books by Iggulden called Darien and Shiang. I’m not sure what category to put those books into, possibly fantasy or magical realism. I really enjoyed Iggulden’s writing though so I wanted to read more of his work. Iggulden is better known for his historical fiction, which is a genre I love so I decided to dive into one of those. A Man Called Ove: Book Review

I wrote before about my love of reading. The most recent book that I’ve finished is ‘A Man Called Ove’ by Fredrik Backman. Unsurprisingly, this book tells the story of Ove, who on the surface is a grumpy old man who partakes in ongoing squabbles with his neighbours. As the story unfolds we learn more about Ove and his past so that we understand how he got to this point and why he approaches things in the way that he does. Behind The Name

I toyed with a few names for this blog then settled on ‘Snatched Words’. I like it because it’s got lots of interpretations, a bit like parenting itself. The definition of ‘snatch’ is to grasp hastily or a brief, hurried period. This sums up nicely so many parts of my life as I would always like to snatch more sleep, and I’m constantly snatching at time.
